You Asked, We’re Answering!
Hi all, and welcome to the club! We’re The After School Cookie Club, London’s first plant-based cookie bakery. If you follow us on instagram then you’ve probably noticed that we have been asking you to send in your questions for us, well we want to answer them. Each Sunday morning we will be bringing you new content, and giving you a self care tip to get you through the week, this week we will be answering your questions from both instagram and our FAQ’s from the stores
Q1. How did you start?
We wanted to create the most indulgent sweet treats made from loveliest plant based ingredients. We wanted to see if we could create the most wonderful cookies and doughs without an animal product in sight. So in 2019 we created our products, built a little wooden cart, stuck it on Golborne Road and sold pots of cookie dough!
Q2. Do you cater for private events?
We do! We have a range of different options available on our website depending on what you need. We love doing events with cookies & ice cream as our fave combo.
Q3. Do you just eat cookies all day?
For our first week, absolutely! We’re very lucky that we are allowed all the cookies we want, and we all have days where we want to eat more, but mostly it’s just us occasionally taking leftover cookies home
Q4. What do you do with the leftovers at the end of the day?
A few things… we put all of our whole cookies on Too Good To Go the next morning, or we use them to make our amazing cookie shake, and with our half cookies (from our cookie monster) we often take them home for ourselves, housemates, or anyone in need we find on our way home. Sometimes we’ll even give them as extras to our lovely customers at the end of the day.
Q5. Is everything vegan? Really?
Yes! Everything but the staff!
Some staff are vegan, some are vegetarian but mostly it’s a mix of dairy free, lactose intolerant, or people that just really like cookies. Even the ice cream is vegan! It’s all made without gluten too!
Q6. Any new flavours coming?
We are on the cusp of our next cookie inventions… stay tuned…
Q7. Who decides the music?
We all do, we’re really lucky that we’re allowed to put on our own music so pretty much anything you hear was chosen by the staff. Sometimes we put on a random playlist, sometimes it’s whatever we’ve been listening to on repeat, but it’s always chosen by us.
Q8. Where do you get your coffee from?
We’re actually supplied by a local East London coffee roasters (Saint Espresso), we use their neighbourhood blend and it’s delicious, but we might be biassed.
Q9. Do you have a rewards program?
We actually have a coffee loyalty card, simply come in, buy a coffee and ask for one. Then each time you come in and buy a coffee just get a new stamp, and then you will not only get your 10th coffee free but you’ll even get a cookie with it!
Q10. Do you do NHS/student discounts?
We do indeed! Simply show us a valid form of ID and get 10% off your entire order
