The After School Book and Cookie Club

Good morning folks, and happy Sunday!

This week we’re starting a book club. We're going to recommend our favourite books to you, and tell you a bit about them. This week we’re starting with staff member Xan’s favourite book ‘The Night Circus’, this is a wonderful book about a circus that opens at night, a game of magic, star crossed lovers, and a young boy trying to find his way in life. It’s a perfect book for curling up with to enjoy your bank holiday weekend

Why they love it: The detail is amazing, you can really see everything and get completely lost in the book. I’ve read the book and listened to the audio book and they’re both very engaging, so it’s adaptable in any form. The story takes place over many years, and has some really fantastic twists and turns.

Why you should read it: If you love the circus, romantic themes, and getting completely lost in a book then it’s for you. It’s a one off book so there’s no other books you have to buy to follow it up, and the story gets very engaging quickly so it’s easy to get lost in, and it’s a reasonable length book (660 pages) so it won’t take ages to read.

Things you should know: The book does have some adult themes and content so it’s best for those of us who are 16+

So that’s it folks, that’s what we’re doing with our bank holiday weekend, curling up in the sun with a nice book and one of our delicious cookie shakes!
